THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID directed by Stefanie Sommer and Adrienne
devised and performed by 1st year students at Vienne English Theatre Academy (VETA)
performed at THEATER ARCHE, 4 & 5. Februar 2024
That’s what she said.
A battle cry etched in resilience, a testament to the ones who turned vulnerability into power.
That’s what she said.
They whispered that she was broken,
That she should bear her suffering in silence.
Keep still.
But a fire burned within,
Fuelled by the stories of women who defied the odds.
Stand up
They said.
It’s time to rewrite the narrative.
Rebuild trust, navigate the labyrinth of self-doubt, search the ruins of self worth.
Reclaim femininity. Redefine.
They said
trust your gut,
separate the lies from the truth.
refuse to be defined by pain.
rise from the ashes.
Survive.
Vulnerability is the birthplace of empathy.
The heart beat of a shared humanity.
The combination of nurture and inner strength.
Feminity is solidarity, it’s forgiveness.
Individual voices in the army of human kind.
It is genderless.
It is an essence.
It is a whole vibe.
